IP select Six is an additional program that runs alongside the LPCHA IP Program. Players who participate in Select Six also play in the IP House League program. Select Six is designed for advanced players to gain competitive hockey skills in a fun environment while getting an introduction to Rep Hockey. Select consists of an extra team game and practice each week. The games are scheduled by the MHL against other MHL Select Six teams. Practices will be set each week by the coaching staff of Select Six.
*Game and practice times TBD.
The IP Select Six kids will play on a IP House League Team as well as their IP Select Six Team and are expected to commit to both teams equally.

LPCHA IP Program Games and Practices
All LPHCA IP games and practices use Half ice and Blue light weighted pucks. The IP HL teams will play with goalies for games selected from their team each week. Goalie equipment is provided by the LPHCA.

All IP Program players - with the exception of the Learn to Play participants - are evaluated at the beginning of the season. At the conclusion of the evaluation period, players will be convened into 10 - 12 IP teams. Each team is comprised per age groups of 4, 5 and 6 year olds. Some players will be placed into Lego League teams and other players will be placed on IP HL teams depending on their skill level.

All IP teams are balanced and structured into a 12-13-player team with an A and B line. A line being the stronger skilled players and the B line being the lower skilled players. In game play, A lines play against each other, as do the B lines, maximizing each player’s ability to compete against those of similar skills. Players that surpass their B line abilities can be moved to the A Line.

For practices kids are divided into groups as per age & of similar skill, then moved through drill stations in those groups at Half or Cross ice and multiple skill stations are used for practices to create variety when working on skating, shooting and puck control.

*As of January 2019 offside will be called for the House League A line.
*All Game and Practice times are subject to change slightly based on enrollment numbers, practices & games will be held at Cawthra Arena on Sat & Sun, times TBA

VOLUNTEERS

The IP teams will have volunteers (mostly players from bantam to midget) that will help with the teams.  However we also need Assistant Coaches and Parent volunteers - please contact Tyke@lpcha.ca if you are interested.

*All parent volunteers MUST have police check / photo ID / Speak-Out Course before anyone is allowed on ice to help. Please visit Mississauga Hockey League website at www.hockey.on.ca to find those clinics.
